The Challenge: World Championship (2024)

The Challenge: World Championship is a spin-off in the Challenge franchise. The season features winners and MVPs of The Challenge: Argentina, The Challenge: Australia, The Challenge: UK, and The Challenge: USA that will be partnered with Challenge legends from the MTV flagship series. The pairs will have to win, play, and politic to avoid elimination and reach the $500,000 prize. The season was filmed in South Africa between October and November 2022, and premiered with back-to-back episodes on March 8, 2023.

After intense battles around the globe, The Challenge: World Championship brings together global champions and MVPs from The Challenge: Argentina, The Challenge: Australia, The Challenge: UK, and The Challenge: USA to represent their countries and battle for the coveted title of “Challenge World Champion.” Joining longtime host TJ Lavin to kick off the premiere episode are global hosts Brihony Dawson (Australia), Mark Wright (U.K.) and Marley (Argentina).

In this 12-part series, each global MVP will be paired with a Challenge Legend, a notable veteran from a previous season of the MTV series, serving as a partner to form the most epic teams in the history of the franchise. They will help them win power and avoid elimination in order to make it to the most difficult challenge of them all, the brutal finale worth $500,000. In the end, only the most dominant will conquer the game and prove they are not just the best in their home country, but the best in the world.

Format[]

Pairs will compete in multiple challenges, followed by elimination rounds known as "The Arena". The winners of the challenge will be safe from elimination, while the last-place team will be sent straight to the Arena. The rest of the house will then vote in two teams as possible opponents against the losers. In the Arena, the winners will send one of the two nominated teams to compete. The winners of the elimination stay in the game, while the losers are eliminated.

• Qualifier and Draft: The Global MVPs will compete in the Opening Challenge to determine the draft order to choose their Legend partner. Two MVPs will be eliminated before the draft begins.

Trivia[]

• Brad Fiorenza and Jenny West were flown to South Africa with the initial cast to serve as alternates in case anybody was disqualified. They were eventually sent home after being unused.
• Sol Pérez is the only winner of the World Championship series to not compete on World Championship. She later revealed that she was cast but was unable to go due to not being vaccinated for yellow fever, and no one was able to vaccinate her in time due to a holiday.
• The villa that the contestants stayed in this season was used again in All Stars 4.
