Can You Air Fry Camembert?

Yes, you can air fry camembert, and you will love camembert baked in the air fryer instead of in the oven.

Air fryer camembert is much quicker to cook, and also ideal if you have a smaller air fryer because the camembert is quite small and will easily fit. Or if you have an air fryer dual, then you can do camembert in one drawer and warm garlic bread in the other.

Do You Cook Camembert In The Box?

Yes. The easiest way to cook camembert is in the box. It saves on washing up and the cardboard box that comes with your ready to bake camembert is oven and air fryer safe. Hence why many people choose to cook the camembert in its box.

Then when the cheese is melty and ready for serving, you can move the box to a plate or a serving tray and then tuck in.

How To Cook Camembert Without A Box?

If you don’t have the box from your camembert, then that is not a problem either. The cardboard box that comes with your camembert, is simply an alternative to a cooking dish. So just replace it for something else and something that is a similar size. I would use my silicone cake pan that I use for the air fryer.

Best Way To Cook Camembert?

The best way for cooking camembert is in the air fryer. If you air fry camembert there is no going back to the oven.

The best thing about camembert in the air fryer is how much quicker the cook time is and how simple it is. Its most certainly one of those lazy recipes to make in the air fryer.

How Do I Cook Camembert?

This sounds incredibly lazy but baked camembert cheese is simply grabbing a whole camembert, then cooking it until the cheese is all gooey in the middle and you have perfect melted camembert.

Some baked camembert air fryer recipes might make it look more complicated but all they are doing is adding some toppings to the top skin and giving you some serving suggestions.

Cheese – Let’s start with the cheese as its all about the cheese, right? We used one baked camembert round that we picked up from M&S. Though we have also tried them from Aldi and Morrisons too and they are just as good.

Glaze – You may also want to add a glaze to the top of your camembert but its not essential. We used a sweet chilli packet that came with our baked camembert though you can also use honey, garlic, rosemary or another favourite topping.

Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?

I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. • Prep. Firstly remove the outer packaging and then turn your camembert over but keep it in the cardboard box. Then do lines with a knife in one direction and then in the other as this will help the melted cheese break through.
  • Brush. If you are adding a marinade or a sauce, then brush it over now with a pastry brush. We added sweet chilli sauce to ours.
  • Cook. Next cook camembert in air fryer for 10 minutes at 180c/360f or until you have melted camembert.
  • Serve. Next serve immediately with your favourite things to dunk such as crusty breads or crackers.

And that is how easy this baked camembert recipe is.

How Long To Cook Camembert In Air Fryer?

Camembert cooking time on the packaging says 35 minutes and I am sure that is not including the preheat.

Air fryers however are much FASTER and camembert in air fryer time is JUST 10 minutes.

Though this is perfect for really creamy baked camembert and if you want it more liquidy then you can increase the cook time to 12 minutes.

What To Serve With Baked Camembert?

My cheats lazy way to enjoying baked camembert is by also cooking some part baked rolls in the air fryer. Part baked bread is like crusty bread heaven and is ideal for dunking into your camembert once cooked.

You can also serve crackers with your camembert like you would do if serving cheese and biscuits.

Or another option is to make some tapas and serve them with your cheese for a great supper that you can all share.

What we did with our baked camembert is we shopped at our favourite bakery and picked up some of their lovely bread and then sliced it ready for making a nice bread and cheese platter.

Reheating Air Fryer Camembert

The problem with air fryer camembert, is that if you leave it out for a while it starts to get hard again and then you need a quick way to create a melty texture again.

You can reheat camembert in the air fryer, and this will take about 8 minutes, but the quick method is to quickly put the camembert in the microwave for 90 seconds on full power and it will be melted again.
